Five Million Futures

In their earliest years, children form more than 1 million new brain connections every second – an astounding pace that is never repeated at any other phase of life. Early Childhood Education (ECE) holds incredible, nearly limitless promise to transform the lives of children and communities around the world. UNICEF’s action and advocacy platform for sustainable scaling of ECE, ‘Five Million Futures’ promotes a three-pronged package of parenting support, access to at least one year of quality pre-primary education and successful transition to primary school, reaching 5 million children and their families with equitable access to quality inclusive Early Childhood Education as part of the global effort to achieve SDG 4.2
